Why Igbo People Achieve Greater Success in Business Compared to Other Nigerian Tribes, such as Yoruba and Hausa

The Igbo people have gained a reputation for their exceptional entrepreneurial skills and success in various industries, both locally and internationally. This has resulted in a perception that they are more accomplished in business than other Nigerian tribes, including the Yoruba, Hausa, and others.

This article seeks to explore some of the factors behind the Igbo people’s success in business and gain insights into why they have outperformed other tribes in Nigeria.

In my opinion, Igbo businessmen possess a unique understanding of customer relations that sets them apart from other tribes. Unlike other vendors who may overlook customers’ needs, an Igbo businessman would never be so careless. If a customer stops patronizing an Igbo businessman, he will promptly approach the customer and inquire about the issue to resolve it. This attitude endears the customer to the businessman, resulting in long-term patronage.
