For me, it was an instant. The first night I met Tisha was on a boat. She was having dinner with her friends. She didn’t know who I was, and I asked her to come with me. Her friends told her not to go. But she did.

And they fell in love instantly. In the same interview, the late comedian revealed the two, “drove straight to my brother’s house. My mother was there. My stepfather was there. Eddie was there. They were all in the kitchen. I walked in and said, ‘This is my future wife.’ ”

She Was A Mother Of Two Kids 

From her marriage to her beloved husband, Tisha Taylor Murphy became a mother of two children. She gave birth to her first-born son named Xavier Murphy on June 18, 1999. As of 2022, their son is 23 years of age.

Tisha Taylor Murphy Died At The Age Of 40; Her Cause of Death  

In 2009, Charlie Murphy’s wife, Tisha left the world. Two years before her death in 2007, she was diagnosed with cervical cancer and her diagnosis shocked the whole family. In an interview, her spouse Charlie said he was heartbroken when his then-wife told him about her fatal disease.

I came home and she’s in the kids’ room, crying. That’s when she told me. Cervical cancer. You don’t really grasp it. When the person tells you they’re going to die, you go crazy.

He further told,

You become a different person from the moment you hear those words. A young woman like that — don’t drink, don’t smoke, don’t do drugs. I know people that’s ninety who do all of that.

Later on, Murphy fought cervical cancer for two years and lost her battle over it on December 14, 2009. She died while she was asleep at her home in New Jersey.

Tisha Arranged Her Own Funeral; Her Husband And Kids Were Hugly Impacted By Her Death

As per her husband Charlie, every arrangement required for the funeral was made by Tisha herself before her death. He said,

“She’s a very organized woman. When she died, all the arrangements had been made. She made her own arrangements.”

Every morning, every night. I’ll cook for them myself. I don’t pay somebody else to do that. I’m aware of the fact that one day they are going to grow up and remember all these times.”
