Lady rants over boyfriend who’s ashamed to tell his family that she’s an artist

A woman contemplates about breaking up with her boyfriend because he is embarrassed to inform his parents that she is a professional artist.

Uzoart, a US-based artist, disclosed that she had questioned her partner about his intentions to present her to his family as an artist.

In response to her request to introduce herself as an artist, he said that he would instead tell them that she is an entrepreneur.

She claims that she spent her childhood defending her career and that she wouldn’t be with a partner who was embarrassed to admit that she is an artist for a vocation.

In her words;

“This guy was talking about introducing me to his parents. I asked what would you tell them my occupation is? He said an entrepreneur. I asked why not an artist and he told me to be serious.

Like I get how close minded some people are, but there is no way you can be my partner if you’re ashamed to tell people I’m an artist.

People are quick to say I’m looking for Mr. Perfect when I do not want to tolerate thing’s important to me. Life is too short to settle and I deserve to find someone that makes me happy. Everyone has flaws, but some flaws are not tolerable to someone else”
