Everton forward Richarlison has the ability to play for one of the top teams in the world, according to team-mate Cenk Tosun.

The Brazilian, 21, joined Everton in the summer of 2018 from fellow Premier League side Watford, linking up once more with Marco Silva, who initially brought him to England last year.

So far this season, Richarlison has scored six goals in 10 games across all competitions including three in his first two appearances for the Toffees.

And Tosun, who joined Everton in January of this year, has admitted he is amazed by how good Richarlison is, especially given his young age.

“He’s young and dynamic and it really baffles me that he is already this good,” he told Goal.

“He’s still got a lot to learn and he has a long road ahead of him. I think if he continues like this, he has the potential to be playing in the top teams of the world.”

Tosun himself has managed seven goals in 26 games for Everton across all competitions since joining from Besiktas early in the year, but has been reduced to a substitute role in his past seven Premier League matches.

Tosun: Everton are aiming to disrupt the top six

Having drawn 0-0 with Chelsea on Sunday afternoon Everton stayed ninth in the Premier League with five wins, four draws and three defeats from 12 matches.

“I see Everton as the first club that comes after the top six,” he added.

“We have to be in Europe every season. Last year we couldn’t manage that and finished eighth. We didn’t have the best season, especially at the start.

“During my time here last season, we performed better and this season we have a really good team, a lot of good players have been brought in.

“I believe what our fans and chairman deserve is Everton to be competing in Europe. To finish in the first six or seven in the table would be a realistic goal.”
